Dave Smith

Chapter President

VP Enterprise Data Center Infrastructure Management | U.S. Bank

Smith, a graduate of Pittsburg State University with an associate’s degree in HVAC Technology along with certifications in Construction Management, PMP Project Management, Master Mechanical and Electrical and OSHA 309A electrical standards. He is also a member of the Uptime Institute, AFCOM, 7x24 Exchange and Refrigeration Service Engineers Society of America.
He previously worked as a critical facilities manager for Sprint and DST in Kansas City. Smith grew up working in a 3rd generation family owned mechanical, electrical and commercial refrigeration business until the late 1990’s when he moved into Data Center critical facilities management. Most recently, he works for US Bank Corp overseeing all critical facilities Engineering and IT Hardware support groups as well as all major infrastructure capital expenditure projects.

US Bank Corp a fortune 500 company headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota currently has multiple critical facilities across the country providing data processing and paper processing coast to coast as well as abroad.

Smith joined the AFCOM board holding position of President in 2016.

Willy Simmons

Willy Simmons currently resides in Overland Park, Kansas and brings over 20 years of IT and technology experience.  He obtained a degree in Organizational Communications from the University of Kansas in 1991 and shortly after began his career in Telecommunications.  His extensive experience with MCI, Level 3, CenturyLink and MDL Technology has given him insight into some of the biggest challenges that companies face today and how technology can be leveraged to help them reach their IT Goals and Objectives. He is currently President and CEO of Smart Dog IT and helps design solutions to help building owners and property managers leverage Smart Building Technology to make buildings more intelligent, connected and integrated with the many systems inside the building. 

Willy enjoys sharing his time and expertise with several non-for-profit organizations.  He has participated in numerous philanthropies including Share the Blessing and COR Furnishings and is currently involved with Operation BBQ Relief helping provide meals to displaced families and first responders working onsite after natural disasters.

Ashley Lange

Ashley Lange serves as the Greater Kansas City AFCOM Secretary. She also serves as the Philanthropic Chair for Kansas City’s Women in Mission Critical Operations. She is a Project Coordinator at GBA Builders, LLC, with 12 years of experience in the Engineering & Construction industry. She holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Kansas in Public Administration. Ashley is passionate about philanthropy and giving back to the community.

Blaine Warden

Associate - Mission Critical | Telios

Blaine serves as Chapter Director At Large for the Greater Kansas City Chapter of AFCOM.  He is also an Associate in Telios Corporation’s Mission Critical practice and the manager of Telios’ Kansas City office.  As an Associate, Blaine serves as a single point of contact for project decisions from inception through construction completion.  He has an extensive multi-discipline background that allows him to deliver MEP designs, for both mechanical / controls systems and electrical distribution systems, that best support the owner’s business model and financial expectations. 

Greg Edmonds

Senior Electrical Engineer - Mission Critical | Burns & McDonnell

Graduated from Kansas State University with a degree in Architectural Engineering, emphasis in Mechanical.  Changed to Electrical discipline in 1993 with overlap into Telecommunications Systems design, both inside and outside plant.  Acquired RCDD certification in 2000.  Worked in the Mission Critical sector since 1996 designing, building, and commissioning both greenfield and brownfield data centers with project sizes ranging from small computer rooms and IDF’s to large hyperscale facilities exceeding 100 MW.  Some things I enjoy outside of work are running, biking, Chiefs & Royals games, K-State games, volleyball, skiing, reading (when I have time), and some, not all, home construction projects. 

Andrea Schweller

Mission Critical Business Development | JE Dunn

Andrea has been working as a part of the JE Dunn Mission Critical program for 10 years. Andrea has been critical in the development of JE Dunn’s national data center partnerships. She oversees the Mission Critical market relationships with all team members across the country both from an internal and external perspective.

Andrea is a University of Kansas graduate and has been working in the A/E/C industry since 2004. She is an active member of 7x24 Exchange, AFCOM, and a founding member of Women in Mission Critical Construc¬tion Kansas City (WiMCO). In addition, Andrea is an alumni of Central Exchange’s Emerging Leaders 2020 class and Leadership Lenexa Class of 2017.
