Pat Piechocki manages Data Center Operations at SpartanNash, a Fortune 400 company and the largest food distributor serving US military commissaries and exchanges in the world, in terms of revenue. The Company’s core businesses include distributing food to military commissaries and exchanges, and supplying independent grocery retailers, in addition to corporate-owned retail stores.

Having worked for SpartanNash for 30 years, Pat's IT experience includes Application Development, Disaster Recovery, Systems Administration and Project Management. His current responsibilities include production systems monitoring and scheduling, change management and production control, report administration, printer operations and mail services.

Pat holds a BBA in Computer Information Systems and an MBA in Strategic Management from Davenport University and is certified in ITIL V3 Foundation.

Robert Evans

Rob Evans is the Manager of Managed Services at AHEAD, a consulting company that helps clients build and run an optimal enterprise cloud – from infrastructure, to security, to the right tooling for application and infrastructure deployment, to the automation and orchestration that coordinates it all. He is responsible for delivery of the company’s AWS and Azure managed services program: CoPilot.

Rob has been working in the IT industry since 1992, specializing in 24x7 data center operations, Linux/Unix and Windows systems administration, data center infrastructure, cloud computing, application performance monitoring, eCommerce, Software as a Service, managed services, helpdesk, information security, backups, data center consolidations and expansions, project management, and software development.

Rob’s previous experience includes ensuring the availability of the Domino’s Pizza eCommerce platforms, the Workforce Software global SaaS environments, and the ProQuest subscription-based SaaS solutions and evolving the RightBrain Networks cloud-based managed services program.

Rob earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Michigan State University and MBA from Eastern Michigan University. He holds 3 AWS Associate certifications and an ITIL V3 Foundation certification.

Michael has been working for Michigan State University for 31 years. I am experienced in all aspects of computer operations. These include cross platform batch job scheduling, problem determination, production analyst, output quality control, JCL, MVS operating system, network monitoring, data center facilities including power and cooling. I also create and present documentation and procedures. I have been a member of AFCOM since 2002.

Jim Borland Is a Senior Technical Consultant with JEM Tech Group. He has been with JEM Tech for 13 years and he has been a member of the Michigan AFCOM chapter for the past 11 years. For the past 8 years he has been a member of the Board of Directors serving as the Membership Director and now as the Events Coordinator.

Kevin Morris is the Regional Sales Manager for Michigan, Indiana and NW Ohio and the Technical and Strategic Advisor for the Central US at The Siemon Company, an industry leading global manufacturer of structured cable products. Siemon supports the data center by offering design services and support products that includes: BIM, Floor Space Planning, Cabling Design, CFD Analysis, Cabinets, PDUs, Copper and Fiber Cabling, Cooling, Direct Attach Cables and DCIM. Kevin has 20 years of experience in the communications and IT industries working both in the field and managing processes and teams.

Dave Madill manages IT Service Management (End-User Computing) team which includes managing the environmental operations of the Data Center at Farm Bureau Insurance of Michigan. Just as the mission statement states for Farm Bureau Insurance, “Protecting the people of Michigan from the risks of everyday life”, is the same mission of the Service Management team for the Data Center. We are here to protect our Data Center! Dave has worked for Farm Bureau Insurance for 10 years, also working for the Michigan Legislative Service Bureau, and EDS. Nearly 25 years working in IT from a Helpdesk Analyst to a System Engineer. His main goal before retirement is to eliminate printing and printers altogether. Dave holds a BBA in Computer Information Systems from Central Michigan University (Fire up Chips!) Dave also sits on the Board of Directors with a very successful financial institution.
