CHAPTER INSURANCE

As an optional service to our chapters, AFCOM is providing a link to Premier Southwest Insurance Group, a national insurance broker that provides insurance coverage to association chapters. Many of our AFCOM chapters have asked if AFCOM National provides insurance services to the chapters. While we are not in that business, and we don’t endorse any single insurance broker, we’ve worked out a relationship with PSIG to help chapters obtain insurance to cover things like liability and errors and omissions, if they so choose.

We came across PSIG when our Phoenix chapter worked with them to obtain chapter liability insurance, and they expressed satisfaction with the service. PSIG offers a variety of insurance packages (see some examples below). If your chapter is looking to add insurance coverage, or update an existing plan, and you aren’t sure how to get started, you’re welcome to contact PSIG for information. Please note that AFCOM National does not provide any advice on type of insurance coverage.

To get started, contact David Hamerski at david@psigllc.com or 480-315-9051.

General liability may be all your chapter needs, but if you're interested, PSIG offers the following insurance options:

  • General Liability: Often referred to as business liability insurance, this is coverage that can protect you from a variety of claims including bodily injury, property damage, personal injury and others that can arise from your business operations.

  • Directors & Officers: Liability insurance payable to the directors and officers of a company, or to the organization itself, as indemnification (reimbursement) for losses or advancement of defense costs in the event an insured suffers such a loss as a result of a legal action

  • Professional Liability – Errors & Omissions: Helps protect professional advice- and service-providing individuals and companies from bearing the full cost of defending against a negligence claim made by a client, and damages awarded in such a civil lawsuit. The coverage focuses on alleged failure to perform on the part of, financial loss caused by, and error or omission in the service or product sold by the policyholder.

  • Employment Practices Liability – Management Liability: Provides coverage to employers against claims made by employees alleging discrimination, wrongful termination, or other employment-related issues, such as failure to promote.

  • Worker’s Compensation: Protects your employees and your business from work-related accidents, illnesses, and even death.

  • Umbrella Liability: Coverage that goes beyond the limits of the insured's home, auto or watercraft insurance. It provides an additional layer of security to those who are at risk for being sued for damages to other people's property or injuries caused to others in an accident

  • Crime: Provides several different types of crime coverage, such as employee dishonesty coverage; forgery or alteration coverage; computer fraud coverage; funds transfer fraud coverage; kidnap, ransom, or extortion coverage; money and securities coverage; and money orders and counterfeit.

  • Cyber Liability: Covers a business' liability for a data breach in which the firm's customers', client information, personal information, such as Social Security or credit card numbers, is exposed or stolen by a hacker or other criminal who has gained access to the firm's electronic network.

  • Business Personal Property & Building: Covers contents and either interior or exterior of the building or both depending.

AFCOM National does not endorse any one insurance broker for your business, and does not provide any advice for the type of coverage you may want or need for your chapter. Individual chapters are responsible for their own insurance decisions.
