A WORD FROM THE PRESIDENT

WELCOME TO THE CENTER OF THE DATA CENTER UNIVERSE!

Our award-winning Potomac Chapter of AFCOM has the honor of serving the professionals who build, implement, and operate the world’s largest concentration of data centers. This unique position places us at the heart of the action. Our chapter is actively involved, supportive, and continually seeks to advance the industry and the communities where we live, work, and raise our families. And really, it’s about the nicest group of people you will network with.

Empowering Through Education, Employment, and Philanthropy
We envision a thriving community where education fuels innovation, employment opportunities flourish, and philanthropy drives positive impact. To grow the data center workforce, we run an award-winning summer internship program, and to support members in their career growth, we host educational programs and outreach. I work with the local school district both speaking with students about careers in data centers and serving on advisory committees to help with curriculum planning.

As a chapter, our philanthropic goals are ambitious. In 2024, we donated over $100,000 to local schools, girls’ STEM,  Northern Virginia Community College, and Skull Games, an organization combating human trafficking, among others. Personally, I am always creating new opportunities to engage our members in ways that will both help the local community and advance the future of the industry.

AFCOM Potomac represents the states of Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, and the District of Columbia, but we have members from a broader reach.
